Motorcycle Back-riding is Now Allowed! Follow the Guidelines.

Since the announcement of ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine and GCQ ( General Community Quarantine), back-rides on motorcycles were prohibited even for married couples to secure social distancing and avoid the further spread of the coronavirus.

Now, back riding in motorcycles is already allowed in principle upon the approval of the requirements that were set by the technical working groups.

On a post from Valenzuela City’s official Facebook page last July 11, the honorable City Mayor Rex Gatchalian reminded the public to follow the guidelines on back-riding. This includes the much heated issue of putting a barrier between the driver and passenger. Many citizens and some politicians were not in favor of this saying that the barrier is not safe and may cause accidents. However, the DILG and PNP will strictly follow the guidelines provided.
